Automotive link uses single wire
In the automotive industry, in which the goal is to produce cars with simpler, lighter wiring looms, any interface that uses just one wire instead of two offers a distinct advantage. The circuit  implements a bidirectional link using a single wire, with the car's chassis or ground conductor providing a negative return path.

80188XL Engine Tachometer
Either transistor or optical to generate ADC compatible voltage levels.  These are basically frequency to voltage converters. This adapts the input to the LM2917 chip or 555 system. The design is flexible. See interfacing specifications for compatible voltage ranges for ADC conversion. (Under development)



Automatic Dual Output Display
This circuit lights up ten bulbs sequentially, first in one direc- tion and then in the opposite direction, thus presenting a nice visual effect. In this circuit, gates N1 and N2 form an oscillator. The output of this oscillator is used as a clock for BCD up/down counter CD4510 (IC2).
Car Battery Charger
This charger will quickly and easily charge most any lead acid battery. The charger delivers full current until the current drawn by the battery falls to 150 mA. At this time, a lower voltage is applied to finish off and keep from over charging. When the battery is fully charged, the circuit switches off and lights a LED, telling you that the cycle has finished.

Headlight Reminder
